Orangetheory Fitness benchmark run
I’ve always had a love/hate (okay, mostly hate) relationship with social media, but my appreciation for it is starting to grow through this project.
After sharing my fitness goal to finally learn how to weightlift this year, I received so many kind messages and ideas for how to get started. Everyone was so helpful and encouraging! And thanks to what I learned, I should have some updates next month—stay tuned!
I also learned after posting my Orangetheory Fitness review that there is a way to measure your progress. In my review, I noted as a con that it’s hard to track my fitness progress since each workout is different. However, it turns out that Orangetheory has a number of treadmill, rower, and weight floor benchmark days to help you do just that. Thank you, Tiffany, for the heads up and to Lance for the additional info!
My cousin and I went to our first benchmark day at Orangetheory: a 12-minute run on the treadmill. We ran 1.2 miles, which comes out to a 10-minute mile pace. That’s already 50 seconds faster than the first mile of the Tunnel to Viaduct 8K race I did a few weeks ago! So I’ll take it. Plus, you have to start somewhere, right?
