More than just the Insta-worthy moments
I’m not sure if anyone will read this thing, but in case it happens, I hope you know I’m glad you’re here!
Maybe you can relate to this: while I’m good at showing up for other people—whether it’s for family, friends, or coworkers—I have trouble following through on commitments to myself.
I’ve been aware of this tendency for years and have even created a whole annual goal-setting exercise to help counter it. I’ve done it for more than a decade and have grown tremendously. And yet, when I sat down to start the process for 2019, I looked over my goals from the past five years and something jumped out at me. One goal consistently appeared year after year: “Learn to weightlift.”
Do I know how to weightlift? Not a clue. Is that about to change? You bet.
I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to do it, but this is the year that I will actually figure it out. I’m going to use this notebook and my @momo.in.motion Instagram to hold myself accountable and to jot down my thoughts, discoveries, reflections, and attempts in order to make traction on my fitness and other goals.
Documenting the process—not just the Insta-worthy moments—means you’ll get my ups and downs, successes and failures, convictions and doubts. The whole shebang.
If this interests you, I hope you will follow along! And if you have any advice, insights, or comments, please don’t hesitate to share them with me!
